Frequently Asked Questions
What are Military Family Resource Centres?
Military Family Resource Centres are autonomous, non-profit organizations governed by a volunteer Board of Directors. All Centres are mandated to provide consistent service to all military families. Often, that consistency is welcome in a lifestyle that can involve frequent moves and deployments. In addition, each Centre is responsible for developing programs that meet the needs of their specific communities.
Where are other MFRCs located?
Each Canadian military base, including our overseas bases, works in partnership with other Military Family Resource Centres. Click here for complete MFRC listings and contact information.
Can Reservists and their families use the MFRC?
Yes. All MFRCs receive funding to ensure services are provided to Reservists and their families. Everything offered to the Regular Forces in terms of ongoing services and deployment support is available for Reservists.
Are the MFRC programs and services confidential?
Yes, privacy and confidentiality are a key part of our philosophy. Please read our Confidentiality and Privacy Policy.
Am I eligible for MFRC services?
The MFRC is dedicated to assisting all members of the military community. If you require services, do not hesitate to contact us. If we are not the appropriate agency, we will refer you to the best alternative.
I’m single. Why would I need to use the MFRC?
The MFRC is very interested in meeting members of the military community who are posted to ASU Chilliwack, NRS Aldergrove, and Units under command of 39 Canadian Brigade Group. We have many fun events that would be of interest to you. If you are interested in helping us plan activities or support geared to unaccompanied members of the military community, please contact us.
I’m having a hard time meeting people at our new posting. What do you suggest?
Our Welcome Program activities and events, as well as many other of our services, are wonderful opportunities to meet others in our community. Contact us for ideas and we can ensure you “get connected.”
